ChatGPT now has numerous plug-ins. Many of them can help make work or everyday life easier. With a ChatGPT extension, you can even have the content of videos summarised.
ChatGPT Plus has had two new functions for some time. For example, users of the paid subscription can activate so-called web browsing. This allows you to allow ChatGPT to search the internet for current data.
In addition, Plus users now have the option of activating third-party plug-ins. With an extension, you can even have videos summarised.
ChatGPT: How to activate plugins
With the “Video Insights” plugin, ChatGPT can summarise the content of videos for you without you having to watch them. It only takes a few clicks to do this.
First you have to make sure that the plugin function is activated in ChatGPT. To do this, click on the three-dot menu at the bottom left after you have logged in to the website.
Then select “Settings” and “Beta functions”. Then activate the slider at “Plugins”. Note: Since OpenAI is gradually rolling out its new functions, the plug-ins may not yet be available to all users.
ChatGPT plugin “Video Insights”: Summarise video content
Now you should theoretically be able to download third-party plugins. First click on “Plugins” in the drop-down list and then on “Plugin Store”. Then install the “Video Insights” extension via the search.
The plugin is a video interface tool that allows you to extract information from videos – for example, from YouTube. You can use the tool to create summaries of videos or ask questions about video content.
You can also create a full transcript and summarise metadata such as the number of likes, views or comments. The tool’s summaries are quite helpful. However, the plugin still seems to have some problems with the metadata.
