Instagram now allows users to add up to five links to their bio. We’ll explain why other companies are annoyed by this and how you can add multiple links to your profile.
Users can now add up to five links to their Instagram bio. CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced this in his broadcast channel. Creators can use the links to forward their followers to third-party sites, for example to an online shop or a blog.
Instagram bio links: Businesses annoyed by update
According to Zuckerberg, this update was one of the most requested features – but only from users. For companies such as Beacons or Linktree, the innovation has a negative impact on their business.
These companies offer solutions for multiple links on social media profiles. However, the new Instagram update means that users no longer need to rely on this to the same extent.
Instagram: How to add up to five links to your bio
The new Instagram update applies to both creator accounts and business. To add multiple links to your bio, click “Edit” on your profile.
On the “Links” tab, you can then add external URLs and enter a corresponding description. You can also sort the different links here.
This is important because only the first link in the list appears directly in your profile. All other redirects are only visible when a follower clicks on the corresponding button.
This is why links in your Instagram bio are worthwhile.
With a link in your bio, you can generate more traffic on your account. You can also redirect followers and visitors to your profile to your website or online shop.
However, you should note that the integrated links open in the Instagram app itself. If you prefer other users to use a browser such as Chrome or Safari, you must set this up separately.
