Around two years after the announcement, Tesla has now launched its latest fan article. We are talking about the so-called Gigaberry, which is currently available as a limited edition on the company’s website.
Elon Musk already announced it at the topping-out ceremony of the Gigafactory Berlin in 2021, and now it is available: the first own beer of the e-car manufacturer Tesla. On its website, the company advertises its Giga Beer as a limited edition.
What’s the deal with Tesla’s Giga Beer?
Tesla is known for not spending money on classic advertising. Instead, the e-car manufacturer led by founder and CEO Elon Musk prefers to attract attention through word-of-mouth advertising.
But curious fan articles are also typical for Tesla. After a Tesla tequila and a flamethrower for the tunnel construction company Boring Company, the introduction of its own type of beer should come as no surprise to anyone.
Tesla beer in designer bottle
The Tesla beer is only available on the website in a pack of three. However, the three bottles, each containing 330 ml, have a proud price typical of Tesla.
Three Giga beers cost 89 euros. But the taste and price are unlikely to deter die-hard Tesla fans. The e-car manufacturer has not skimped on the design either.
Does the taste matter with Tesla’s Giga Beer?
According to the company, the “limited Pilsner-style beer brewed in Berlin” “bridges the gap between the Cybertruck and the 500-year-old beer brewing tradition according to the German Purity Law”.
Among other things, Tesla has brewed “exclusive cyber hops”. Tesla describes the taste of the Giga Beer with the three flavours “citrus, bergamot and sweet fruit”.
The design is – as can hardly be expected from Tesla – probably the real eye-catcher of the Giga Beer. At first glance, one could also suspect perfume bottles behind the small, noble beer bottles.
Who is behind the beer?
The bottles are shiny black and their shape is far from reminiscent of a beer bottle. The lettering Giga, which is supposed to glow in the dark, is emblazoned on the front.
Tesla had already registered the Giga Beer brand in October 2021. According to the Tesla website, a company called Cyberhops is behind the sale. However, the luxury beer is sold and distributed by the Dutch company BrouwUnie.
