In future, all users will be able to post Stories on Telegram. This was announced by CEO Pavel Durov on the occasion of the platform’s tenth anniversary. Previously, the Stories function was only available to subscribers of the paid Telegram Premium, which is not yet available in Germany.
Telegram is now ten years old. To mark the anniversary, the platform has announced that in future all users will be able to post Stories on Telegram. This emerges from an official post by CEO Pavel Durov. Previously, the function was only available to subscribers of Telegram Premium, which is not yet available in Germany.
Telegram introduces Stories for all users
According to Pavel Durov, Telegram now has around 800 million users worldwide. The company has already redefined messaging through numerous updates and new functions. The next step, according to Durov, is to go beyond that and create new innovations.
The goal is to “change the lives of billions of people for the better, to inspire and uplift the people on our planet”. The widespread introduction of Stories is intended to herald the beginning of a new phase for Telegram.
Create Telegram Story
According to Pavel Durov, the introduction of Telegram Stories will be gradual. In concrete terms, this means that the function will probably be available to some users earlier than others. Similar to Instagram and WhatsApp, users can upload short videos or pictures in the Stories, which are visible in the profile for up to 24 hours. After that, they disappear automatically.
However, Telegram also offers the option of saving Stories in the profile beyond this time. In contrast to the competition, it should also be possible to specify in advance who can see Stories. Possible options: Selected users, close friends or all contacts. The option of not allowing screenshots should offer additional protection.
