Twitter’s former Tweetdeck is now available for a fee. Under the new name X Pro, it comes with some new functions. In order to use it, users have to verify their identity. But how much does X Pro cost?
The short message service X – formerly Twitter – has renamed its Tweetdeck X Pro. In addition, it is now subject to a fee. That this step would come was already certain at the beginning of July 2023. Now X Pro is only available to users with an nBlue subscription.
X Pro costs: What does the former Tweetdeck cost?
At the beginning of July 2023, Twitter – or rather X – had still given its users a period of 30 days to verify themselves for X Pro. This period is now over. The former Twitterdeck is no longer free of charge. Instead, only subscribers to Blue – formerly Twitter Blue – have access to the functions.
Those who opt for the subscription can, among other things, write more extensive posts and use extended search functions. “Also new are the decks – a new method of grouping columns into clear workspaces,” according to a support page.
In addition, users can edit previously posted messages for 30 minutes. 50 per cent fewer ads are supposed to appear in their timelines. Posts will have 4,000 characters instead of 280.

The costs for this vary according to the “localised” prices in the respective country. The company itself quotes eight US dollars a month or 84 US dollars a year. In Germany, for example, iOS users can expect to pay eleven euros a month and 114.99 euros a year.
Tweetdeck was originally an independent app. In 2011, however, Twitter took over the app as part of a 40 million US dollar deal. By charging for X Pro, the company now wants to try to generate new revenue. Since the takeover by Elon Musk, X has already made a loss of 29 billion US dollars.
